The Color Sports Festival is an event organized with the purpose of commemorating the death anniversary of Father Bosco, the founder of the Salesian Family and the Don Bosco Foundation worldwide, which operates in approximately 135 countries around the world.
The Color Sports Festival was not created by a single individual; rather, it is the result of shared ideas and collective cooperation rooted in the educational philosophy of Saint John Bosco, which promotes youth education through sports, recreation, and social activities. The Color Sports Festival is one of the most important annual events of Don Bosco schools and is held every year from January 1 to January 31.
In this program, participants are divided into four color teams:
- Red: representing determination and courage
- Blue: representing dignity and authority
- Yellow: representing eternity, longevity, and stability
- Pink: representing friendship, unity, and solidarity
Friendly competitions during the festival encourage students to cooperate with one another and to build new friendships. During his lifetime, Father Bosco always encouraged young people to actively participate in sports because sports promote unity, teamwork, joy, physical strength, endurance, and perseverance in striving toward victory. Even though some teams did not achieve victory, they demonstrated true sportsmanship by participating actively, maintaining discipline, and competing in a joyful and positive atmosphere. This is because the results of the competition are not the most important aspect; rather, the experience and lessons learned by all students from this event are what truly matter.
It should be emphasized that the Color Sports Festival is not merely a sporting competition, but a significant event that promotes friendship, health, and the overall abilities of students at Don Bosco Technical School, Kep Province.
