Kep Province, Cambodia _ On August 26, 2026, indigenous youth studying at Don Bosco Technical School, Kep, gathered to hold a commemoration and prayer for Namuncurá on the anniversary of his remembrance.
Namuncurá was an indigenous youth regarded as a model for indigenous young people worldwide. He had the opportunity to study at Don Bosco schools and later continued his education in Rome, Italy. Even at a young age, he showed strong determination to learn and develop himself, with the dream of returning to help improve his community and his people.
However, his aspirations and mission were not fully realized, as he passed away in Rome at only 19 years of age. His short life left behind an inspiring example of faith, perseverance, honesty, and self‑sacrifice for others.
On this occasion, the indigenous youth at Don Bosco Technical School, Kep, remembered the life and values of Blessed Namuncurá, while committing themselves to continue studying, developing their skills, and using their knowledge to contribute to the advancement of their communities and society in the future.
This commemoration was not only an act of respect for Namuncurá but also a source of encouragement for all young people to dream, strive, and serve others with love and responsibility.
