🎬 Anchored in Hope on Our Indigenous Territories
The Don Bosco Technical School, Kep Province, the Social Communication Team of the Salesian Delegation of Cambodia and ROOTS: Catholic Network of Indigenous Peoples of Asia, warmly invites Indigenous youth to take part in the Second Namuncurá Short Film Festival 2025.
This year’s festival celebrates the life and spirit of Blessed Ceferino Namuncurá, a Mapuche youth from the southern lands of Argentina — a student of Don Bosco who lived his short life with deep faith and cultural pride. He passed away in Rome in 1905 and was beatified in 2007, becoming a symbol of hope for Indigenous Peoples around the world.
🌏 Who Can Join?
- Young individuals or groups connected to Indigenous communities in Asia
- Any Indigenous nation, tribe, ethnic group, or community is welcome (e.g. Bunong, Karen, Ainu, Lumad, Dayak, Moken, Lahu, Hmong, among others)
🪶 Festival Theme:
Anchored in Hope on Our Indigenous Territories
Our ancestral lands — called mother earth or home of spirits by many Indigenous cultures — are places of life and memory. They carry our languages, traditions, songs, and stories. Even in times of struggle, these territories are a source of hope.
To be anchored in hope means to believe in a peaceful future rooted in respect for nature, elders, ancestral wisdom, and unity among all peoples.
