In today’s digital era, computers are integral to various industries, enabling students to pursue careers with internet service providers, software development firms, financial institutions, insurance companies, both governmental and non-governmental organizations, manufacturing sectors, hospitality, and aviation. Proficiency in these domains necessitates a diverse skill set, including web and graphic design, software engineering, computer system and network configuration, as well as technical support and service. The educational program provides a balanced mix of theoretical knowledge and practical application. Students will engage in hands-on tasks such as computer installation, server configuration, programming, website and database creation. They will be tasked with numerous assignments that foster internet-based research skills. Additionally, select students will have the opportunity to provide IT support for both on-site and remote requests. To culminate their learning experience, all students are required to complete an internship within a relevant company and develop a thesis.

The applicant must have finished grade 12 (either pass or fail) and must be interested in technical work.

The course covers both theory and practice. Practical work includes installing a computer, setting up a server, writing programs, create websites and databases, etc. Students will have many assignments to complete and will learn to research on the internet. Some will get the chance to assist in on and off-site work when there is a request for IT support. All students have to do an internship in a company and write a thesis.
