Cambodia, Kep Province- On March 16, 2026, Don Bosco Technical School organized a seminar on the topic of “Khmer Culture.” The event was attended by the school management, teachers, and all first-year students.
The seminar aimed to promote awareness and preservation of Khmer cultural values, ensuring that these traditions continue to live in the hearts of the people, especially among the younger generation.
During the program, Mr. Ouk Samien and Ms. In Solida delivered presentations on the meaning and importance of Khmer culture, which has been a fundamental part of Cambodian life from ancient times to the present day.
The presentations also highlighted important Khmer traditions and customs such as coming-of-age ceremonies, wedding ceremonies, engagement ceremonies, birth ceremonies, and hair-cutting ceremonies. In addition, the speakers explained major traditional festivals that reflect Khmer national identity, including Khmer New Year, Pchum Ben Festival, and the Water Festival, which are among the most significant celebrations in Cambodian society.
Beyond the presentations, the program included discussion sessions and group activities. Students actively asked questions and shared their opinions on how to preserve Khmer culture in a rapidly changing modern society.
Overall, the seminar successfully enhanced understanding and appreciation of Khmer cultural values. It encouraged young people to actively participate in preserving and continuing Cambodia’s rich traditions and customs for future generations.
